Reading about Indian wars, there are narratives that reference the USA's use of mountain howitzers against the red men. Wiki shows the M1841 Mountain Howitzer. Can I assume that this was only model of mountain howitzer used against Indians, or were there other models that could have been used against them?

In 1877, the Army adopted the Hotchkiss Mountain Gun which was a breech loader and fired a 2 pound shell.
According to Wiki, that would be the model M1875. Then it was the M1841 before the 1877 M1875. I suppose both models were issued until the M1841 became obsolete. Would that be an accurate statement?

Videos don't tell me the mechanics of the firing pin. I assume that when the cord is pulled, somehow the pin produces a spark that ignites the charge. How does the pin produce the spark? Can it misfire; that is, no spark is produced?

Nice. Is it a muzzle loader or a breech loader?
Its a 6lb howitzer on the mountain carriage. Firing system is a friction primer.
