I am pleased and proud to announce that my new title, Five or Ten Minutes of Blind Confusion: The Battle of Aiken, South Carolina, February 11, 1865, is now available for purchase on Amazon. I haven't gotten my copies yet, but should have them soon. It's been published in both hardcover and softcover editions, and is the first detailed tactical study of the only Confederate victory during Sherman's Carolinas Campaign of 1865. I guess you will not ship signed ccopies overseas, or if you did, I guess shipping would be too expensive for me.
So I will order an ordinary copy from amazon and hopefully have you and Mike sign it for me next time we'll meet.

We have visited Little Bighorn Battlefield in July and I was really surprised about the size. After having read "Son of the Morning Star" I had imagined much smaller distances. Dirk and I were really impressed and I guess there will be even a small fight here then, who of us may read you Little Bighorn book first.

We have visited Little Bighorn Battlefield in July and I was really surprised about the size. After having read "Son of the Morning Star" I had imagined much smaller distances. Dirk and I were really impressed and I guess there will be even a small fight here then, who of us may read you Little Bighorn book first.

That was the first thing that struck me on my first visit there, Andrea--the vastness of the place. I had no idea that there was such a large separation between Last Stand Hill and Reno/Benteen Hill.

Those who live on the East coast sometimes have trouble with the concept of western distances. When I moved from Dallas to D.C. I was surprised that people thought the drive to New York was a long drive. It is about the same as Dallas to Houston, which in Texas is a day trip. This gets important when studying the Civil War in the west or the Indian Wars. The distances are far more relevant when covered by infantry or even cavalry.
