Drunk driver destroys historic marker for the Pennsylvania Reservation at Missionary Ridge.
If that wasn't bad enough, someone walks off with the bronze plaque.
Here are before and after it was hit pictures

The Chattanooga police did the report, but they didn't call the Park Rangers. The plaque was left and when the park found out(a few days later) the plaque was gone.

Usually today, some folks like to post stuff on their FACEBOOK page unknowingly that they will get apprehended. If the drunk was caught at the scene in vehicle, he/she would be facing Federal DUI charges. Not a good thing..Does anyone know how old the monument WAS???

Are they sure it wasn't the same person just after the bronze plaque? Horsewhipping is too good for some people (and I call them that very loosely)

I had the same thought. Maybe what they could get for the bronze plaque (what is the going rate for bronze these days?) was worth any damage to the vehicle.

The thing that upsets me about these kind of things on the battlefield you hardly ever here of them being caught and punished. Seems they get away with it.
