Just for curosities sake, how many people would be interested in portraying a missouri unit in the civil war like the M.S.M Calvary.

Hi vpp1234,
Nothing wrong with doing what your doing but in in Mo it might be a tad controversial since the MSM during the CW had a controversial reputation. Interestingly enough has of a few years ago in Mo of all places there was a 2nd Colorado reenactment group. Has you may know the 2nd Col was arguably one of the most effective Union anti-partisan units and also had a major role in the battle of Westport. If they still exist they might be a good group to contact. Another interesting unit was the 1st Ark which was also effective and had some of their men recruited from Stone County Mo vs the 2nd Colo which may of had only one or two Mo recruits.

Tis funny but a group of us here in Michigan consider ourselves partisan ranges. But its tuff to get event coordinators to accept us as such. They don't like handdguns,or non issued weapons especially any 2 banders. So we call ourselves the 11th Mo. Co. F (confederates).
Gen. Thomas C. Hindman issuded a Confederate Partisan Act in Missouri. satating that when as many as 10 men get together for the purpose they may organize by electing a catain, 1 sergeant and 1 corporal. They will commence operations agaisn the enemy without waiting for special instructions. their duty will be to cut off Federal pickets, scouts, foraging parties and trains. ( sounds alot like Quatrill, and others to me). there is a who list of units that were organised and recognised I have about 2 pages of the units names.
