Milk Lemonade - Dissolve six ounces of loaf sugar in a pint of boiling water and mix with it one pint of lemon juice and the same quantity of sherry; then add three quarters of a pint of cold milk, stir the whole well together and pass it through a jelly bag

In the book, "The Authentic Guide to Drinks of the Civil War Era", by Sharon Peregrine Johnson and Byron A. Johnson there are recipes for lemonade and orangeade. I need to find this book.

Also Godey's had recipe for Milk Lemonade.
