First, Merry Christmas to everyone who helps make this such an interesting forum. As a frequent poster, I really appreciate the interest and comments as well as the indulgence of the administrators who I know bend the rules sometimes to leave my posts up even when they are not totally within the guidelines. This post may fall into that category. :D
Found this Tipton photograph of a very cool group of folks, including a horse posing on three legs, in front of Meade School that appears to be from circa 1900, so just had to put it together with a modern google street view for this interesting comparison.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Greg. Great picture once again.

Great photos, @Gettysburg Greg, thanks for sharing them! I used to live near there and enjoy seeing old photos of that area. Looking up Springs Avenue (the street to the left of the Meade School/Federal Pointe Inn) there are no houses beyond the one at the far left of the frame, which suggests that the carriages going up the street are headed to one of two destinations: the Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary or the Springs Hotel.

Enjoy your pics of then and now, Greg. Been to this locale many, many times on my visits to Gettysburg. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
