These cakes/cookies are delicious served with your afternoon tea. They are from old recipe that my aunt had.

3 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 cup orange marmalade

Mix and sift flour, soda and salt. Cream the shortening. Gradually beat in eggs and sugar; stir in flour and then marmalade. Drop from teaspoon on greased baking sheet, about 2 inches a part. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) about 12 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cakes (cookies).
