The Virginia group have a plan! I will make a bold step here and invite Other Virginians
to join with us or any others that have a mind to, for a study Tour of the the Manassas Battlefield
on Jan. 24, 2015. I think Oldbay wants us to join up at the Vistors Center at 9 am.

This trip is still in the planning stage and is headed up by Oldbay at his suggestion. We take turns
naming places to visit.

So, if weather allows, come join in for some fun and learnings.

Indeed, all are welcome.

Not sure what the focus will be, but the Brawner Farm is closed now for the season, so we won't be able to get the same depth of 2nd Manassas as I'd maybe like. The Stone House is now closed, too, but we can get up and close at least. I imagine we'll hit most of it if not all that is accessible. A lot can be seen from hitting these high points.

Just did a huge self guided tour there last January...great time of year...wasn't super crowded
Sadly, I'm working a 24 hour shift on the 24th or it would be a great day trip from Pittsburgh.

Still planning on the 24th, a week from today. Weather is looking like high in mid 40s with no precipitation. Still a week away and anything can change. I will keep an eye out for the forecast and adjust accordingly.

Great idea.. Hope you guys have fun and take lots of pics...

Wish I could have control on whether I could go -- I'm only 14 and don't have a lot of money. And of course my parents would never let me.
Cilla, be patient. Sooner or later someone will have a do in Texas. Then we'll talk your parents into letting you go. Heck. Your parents would be invited. That's the kind of hairpins we are.
