Hello to all members! I am new to the site and am wondering if someone can help me identify the authenticity or not of this M1851 belt plate. Heavily tarnished. As well as the "keeper"? It looks unlike any I have seen. I sure do appreciate anyones incite.

It would help if you could post photos of the back of the plate.

These style plates are really hard to nail down as they were made late CW up till 1870 when the model 1871 was adapted. Your is missing the keeper and the other piece was used to hold the belt adjustment. With that piece I'm leaning post war.

Thank you so much for the info…. Any idea on the value? I sure appreciate the help.
