Hi all. I came across this nice looking belt plate. I am wondering if anyone could help me determine if this could be civil war era?
Thank you

The 1851 sword plate had several different type backs. The early ones are like the one below. The style of your is a late war into Indian war period. With the bench mark numbers I'm leaning late CW. Nice plate. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The adapted and new pattern in 1874 that had backs like the one below.

Welcome, enjoy. I agree with Richard that it is Civil War. Depending on measurements, but if 51mm x 83mm, I'm calling it Plate 657. Described as "Waist Belt Plate, Regulation 1851 Pattern, Officer, ca. 1863-1865" per "American Military Belt Plates" by Michael O'Donnell & J. Duncan Campbell
