Hello my friends. Some years ago I discovered my anchestor, Pvt Ludger Weber. He served with the Louisiana Militia (Co A, 3rd reg, 2nd Brig, 1st Div). I found about 40+ Members of this Company. But nothing about where this unit were stationed at, if they had to fight or maybe a flag of this unit. So maybe if someone has some information, I would love to see or read it.
I will post some information which I found of Ludger, even a picture of him, compared to my dad with nearly the same age.

Welcome to Civil War Talk.

I'll be glad to see what I may be able to find about Pvt. Ludger Weber.

My direct ancestors settled in both Mississippi & Louisiana (and served in both state's regiments, militias during the War).
So I'm somewhat familiar with searching the records of both states.

Numbered and named militia units can be very confusing, so bear with with me.

Seems @ucvrelics has found the best info.
Actually, I didn't even look at fold3 as he was already looking into those records.

However, I did find an older thread on this site about the First Brigade :

There doesn't appear to be much available about this militia regiment.

Thank you guys. It is great to sse some progress at my research. Thanks for all the help.

So it seems like they never get involved in any fights I think. Well, Ludger died in 1888, so he HAD survived. But I have to say, I though just this way. Never fought or only guarding a city or area.

And, sorry... for the double post but someone told me to post it at another part of the forum.
