Nixon's Consolidated Tennessee Cavalry

I recently read Campaigns and Battles of the Sixteenth Regiment Tennessee Volunteers, a book supposedly about the 16th TN Infantry. Little did I know, the book not only contained information about that unit but also scraps of information about every Tennessee unit in the war. On page 470, towards the back of the book, was an officers' roster of a unit known as "Nixon's Consolidated Regiment Fourteenth and Fifteenth Cavalry." The name is misleading; the consolidation did contain the men of Neely's 14th and Logwood's 15th Cavalries, but it also contained the men of Carter's 21st and Nixon's 22nd Cavalries. I would suppose that a primary reason why the 21st and 22nd weren't mentioned were because the official mustering records of the 21st and 22nd do not exist, and have to be reconstructed from statements made by the colonel. Unfortunately, the list does not state which officers came from where, and I was forced to reconstruct it myself. I have done so, but only partially. There exist many officers who I don't know where they came from, or I found them to come from a completely random infantry regiment. Looking for some help.

Officers' Roster, Nixon's Consolidated Tennessee Cavalry: Includes changes made due to misspellings, absences of a Christian name, bad transcriptions, etc. Officers marked with "unknown" I could not find prior service for, and those marked "???" I found prior service for but not in any of the four regiments. Prior service found from Search for Soldiers unless otherwise noted.

Notes:
¹ Company records for the 20-Series Tennessee cavalry units are unfortunately very incomplete, and there is little data to show to which company, if any, a soldier was assigned.
² There were an unusual number of officers whose prior service came from Nixon's 48th Tennessee Infantry (not to be confused with Voorhies' regiment of the same number). This unit was the former command of Col. George H. Nixon; upon its consolidation with Voorhies' 48th, many of its officers became supernumeraries, and joined Colonel Nixon in raising what became the 22nd Tennessee Cavalry. Therefore, I believe that those men whose prior service appears to be in Nixon's 48th Tennessee were actually officers in the 22nd Tennessee Cavalry, but the records are missing to prove this.

Any clarification on this would be of great assistance.

There is a William W Bayless who served in the 1st Tennessee Infantry. He was captured at Perryville, paroled from City Point in April of 1863. He appears to have gone back to the 1st where he shows up in September of 1863 on detached service. He's still listed as detached in January of 1864. No further records I could find.

"Detached service." I'm guessing that's where a lot of these West Tennessee cavalry officers came from. The fact that there were two from the 44th Tennessee and two from Palmer's Tennessee Brigade (I also found a third in Nixon's 22nd Cavalry's original organization) suggests that these men may have been part of a recruiting party from those respective commands.
