Looking for first name and regiment

Samuel Zook never married and had no children.

A few interesting points about Zook:

1) His grandfather was Major Zook who served during the Revolution.

2) He is buried in Montgomery Cemetery in Norristown, PA, the same cemetery that also holds the remains of Winfield Scott Hancock.

Yes I am . Coming up blank . His CDV showed in an album with a Robert Wilkinson 128th. NY family album.

I think that you may have nailed it. Robert Frederick Wilkinson, 128th New York, was mustered in as captain in August 1862, was wounded at Cedar Creek, and commissioned major in January 1865. He would have been about 24 when he made major and that looks about right from the photograph.

Thank you Ryan!!

So, our guy is not Major P.J. Zook. He is Robert Frederick Wilkinson, 128th New York? Was there a J.P. Wilkinson in the 128th NY? I don't more time now to dig deeper.
