I am looking for more info on my ancestor Hiram Yarbrough Bobo. He was in the 41st Alabama Infantry, Co. H.

I found his record on Fold3 but cant find the Pension. Ancestry.com shows the index of a Pension but does not show the actual pension. His wife Susan E. Bobo filed for the pension.

Am I just missing it on Fold3 or is it just not there?

I am trying to located an actual death date that would possibly lead me to a burial place and any other info I may find.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to throw my way.

JWheeler331, here's a PDF of the pension files including, I believe, both those for Hiram and Susan Bobo. They're available on Ancestry, but not easy to find. Ancestry has full files for (I believe) Texas, Virginia and Alabama. At least two other states, Florida and South Carolina, have them online through their archives.

Thank you very much Andy. I was only able to find the front page with the name on it. I was not able to find complete files. I am really thankful for your time.

Happy to. I couldn't find any online newspapers or other sources with a death notice, which might have identified the cemetery, but with the date you should be able to pursue other sources to determine that.

I know where his wife lies and I assume that he would lay there also (not always the case) but on Find A Grave He is not in the same cemetery. I dont know if he was just not added or if possibly his stone is gone or was never there. I will have to look next time I am in that area visiting family .

The date def. helps though with that and other things.

Yeah, one needs to be careful. I looked up a Confederate veteran local to me and found that he and his wife were buried in the same section of the cemetery, but in plots definitely not adjacent. Unfortunately, neither is marked.
