Fold3.com has records for Newton C Adams. They show he was enrolled March 12, 1862 in Crockett by J. P. Parker for a 12-month period. He was 33 years old a brought with him a horse valued at $200 and equipment valued at $35. He shows up on muster rolls in March, Sept/Oct, and Nov/Dec in 1862. The Jan/Feb 1863 muster roll notes he had been paid in December but was absent at the time of the roll, "Sick at Pine Bluff." That's the last record.
