Have you looked at A Soldier's General (letters of Lafayette McLaws)? It's a UNC book which contains letters setting out the McLaws perspective on how things blew up with Longstreet. Interesting stuff.

I haven't. Although it's definitely on my list. The whole Longstreet/McLaws situation interest me.

The title of the book is:

At the Right Hand of Longstreet
Recollections of a Confederate Staff Officer

I assume it's the same. But I'm not 100% on that. Is there another edition?

Not sure if helpful but I bought "Recollections of a Confederate Staff Officer" by G. Moxley Sorrel from Morningside Bookshop in the 1980's. Morningside publishing typeset and bound many ACW titles long out of print hard to find. Perhaps the 'At The Right Hand of Longstreet' was omitted from the book title and the rest of the content is identical.

@Pete Longstreet , I don't think I saw James Longstreet: Before Manassas & After Appomattox by Gordon Sawyer in your fabulous collection. I apologize if I overlooked it or if someone else has already mentioned it. I learned some new information about the general's childhood from this one. @FarawayFriend , I absolutely loved Helen's book.

You are correct, I don't have that book. Appreciate the heads up. I'll have to add that to the collection!
