My trip concluded in Knoxville, TN. Much of the Civil War landscape has been built over but we visited Bleak House and Fort Dickerson and a sign for Fort Sanders and the only monument in town we could find. From the heights of Fort Dickerson one can see that displacing the Union was no easy task.
Bleak House was closed but the grounds were open and we were able to enjoy our lunches and beautiful views of the river. I hope to have a tour sometime. Here is a little information about the site.

Private Dodd's tombstone is in the front shubbery. We looked him up.
