I have been looking for a decent 54 bore (about .44 calibre) Kerr revolver in a nice mid serial number range for some time but not been successful as yet. Seen some badly worn early ones and some really nice very late ones, probably early 1866 but will persevere. However I think I have picked up a Kerr combination tool/nipple wrench in really nice condition, still with some blue. I have attached some photographs and would appreciate if anyone can confirm this is in fact a Kerr tool. Usually get the gun first and the accoutrements after but I felt it was too good to miss.

Two versions of the Kerr revolver tool were produced, both are rare. Your's is the basic version of the tool combining a screwdriver, nipple wrench and a detail oiler with oil reservoir in a single tool with a round body. The less often encountered tool also included a mainspring clamp similar to the Enfield Sergeant's tool. The tool's body is mostly round but has a single flat side where the mainspring clamp is located. The flat side is coarsely checkered to facilitate a firm grip on the spring. I have the lesser encountered Kerr revolver tool.

Thank you for your reply, it gives me something else to look out for. Here's hoping a nice revolver turns up.

Did you pick that up from Tim a few years ago by chance?
