Now Florida but always a Kentuckian
Always love cornbread. My Granny always made it. This is old Kentucky recipe.

Fried Cornbread

2 cups self rising cornmeal
2 eggs
2 cups cold milk
1/4 cup melted shortening

Place cornmeal in a large bowl. Break eggs into cornmeal. Add milk and shortening. Stir together. Fry about 1/3 cup scoop at a time on a greased skillet until lightly browned on both sided. Serve while hot.

Seems very similar to that which my mother used in middle Georgia.

Sounds really good. A piece of cornbread is something I really enjoy when I can get it.
