[Kentucky Derby Cavalier.]

Hey friends, have any of you heard of JM Davis and their auctions? I believe they're out of Oklahoma. They're online Catalogs are very impressive in my opinion. Many muzzle loaders to choose from.

This is their 2019 catalog.

Unfortunately, J.M. Davis Firearms & Artifacts is not an auction company. They are instead a huge firearms museum located in Claremore, OK. which is just a few miles north of Tulsa. In fact, with over 11,000 firearms, they claim to have the largest privately held firearms collection in the world. Prior to the pandemic, I was spending a weekend in Tulsa twice a year to attend the Wanenmacher gun show which at 4200 tables is the largest gun show in the world. It's at least 1/3rd antique firearms with no flea market junk allowed.

Anyway, I would drive up on a Friday and since I would get to Tulsa around noon, I took one afternoon after I got checked into my motel to visit the museum. It's was just so massive that one can hardly take it all in for just a few hours so I may visit again. It's free to the public but they do take donations.

Evidently at some point a few years ago, the museum decided to sell off some excess guns that they had no plans to display for the express purpose to raise money to aid in the upkeep of the museum

What you are looking at in your thread is the catalog for that one-time auction. The catalog was published and the auction was held by a company called Holabird Western Americana auctions.

Holabird handles all sorts of auctions and is based out of Nevada. Here is their website
