good morning. as I wrote I am an American Civil War enthusiast (I was an independent reenactor as a Southern soldier) and I live in Italy. I post the photos of 3 objects (2 buttons and 1 bullet) that maybe are not from the civil war era (and then I apologize to you) or maybe yes, they are. the buttons were excavated in Italy, while the bullet should come from the USA (but I'm not sure of that either). the smaller button has an inscription, at the bottom, between the stars (13). the weight of the bullet is in grams (about 570 grains) and the caliber in centimeters (about .66) Someone has indicated the shot as probable Sharps & Hankins, but the problem is the caliber. I ask that someone can tell me what buttons they are and what age, and what bullet it is. thank you all

The first button is a Navy button but they were used well into the 1900's. With the rusty tin back its a post war button. The other button looks like a New York state seal staff officers cull button. If you could post a photo of the back we can date. The bullet look like a Sharps variant but not a S&H.

in the meantime, thanks for the information. I apologize if the buttons are not inherent to this group but, as I said, I did not know. attached the photo of the back of the button. a .66 (roughly) Sharps from which rifle could it be used? thanks again and congratulations for the competence
