A selection of impacted minie's, dug up's from 7 days and Gettysburg battle areas. Big challenge to identify any of these! Fascinates me to ponder what these have hit, or if some of it is farming damage. Thank-you very much.

Very Nice High impacts no farming damage, I too have always dug these and pondered what did it hit? The first one is a CS Enfield as it has no grooves and appears to have a plug base, the others have rings but its hard to tell from just those photos.

Although I am not overly familiar with CW bullets, I most certainly am with modern projectiles and agree fully.

Thanks very much guys. I reckon these hit buildings, or metal objects of some description.

Your posts bring up a question that I have wondered about, how hard is it to collect American Civil War artifacts in England and is there anything that you can't legally collect?

It can be hard to acquire any bits and pieces, there are small companys that supply some reanactment groups that sell from time to time. Ammo is ok (so long as it's inert!) and with firearms from the period, all are subject to UK firearm legislation (antique stipulation, obselete calibre's etc) which is long and complex. Easier to stick with some replicas!
