I'm kinda weird like that. If it's done well, I like it. Two different styles; both done very well. I can live with that. I even like Barbara Streisand and Janis Joplin simply because they do/did their schtick very well.

This is quite different from the first and enjoyable as well, very Manhattan Transfer/Nylons in style. I found the contrast in performance interesting. The first group in entirely involved in the music and you can see the joy of singing in their faces. This group is so interested in the aesthetics of the performance you lose some of that joy. I'll listen to again without watching it, I think.
Watching this video, I am reminded of my mother, who was often irritated by the movements and facial expressions of vocalists. "Why can't they just stand there and sing?" she would protest. She was not a singer.

Just now showed it to Dear One. She said of the first one, "he shouldn't have been wearing a hat in church." Of the second, she said "Why did he have his cap on backwards." By the way, she is tone deaf.

The second was "different." Is why I included it. Different, but good in its own way. Showing musicianship is my standard.

The voice is an instrument as much as is a violin, trumpet or fiddle. How one uses it is very much a factor in the presentation. Will not comment further in that I'm a bit odd.
