I picked this up with 2 mid eastern swords and one masonic that were easy to find online. This last one I'm not sure if its CW or not. Looks like it but i haven't seen another quite like it. It was made by A WERTH SOLINGEN. Also What is the point in the serations cut into the blade? Im sure it wasn't made that way. Thank you for any help you can provide!

I'm not an expert but I do know enough to make a fool of myself. Because it says "Solingen" without "Germany" it was made before 1891 or was never intended to be sent to America. For some reason it looks Prussian to me but I can't pin it down farther. I couldn't be sure from the photograph but is the outside bow on the guard bent in?

The gentleman i purchased it from thought it was an 1840 cavalry saber variant imported for use in the CW. Also the only markings on it are covered by part of the guard. It says A WERTH with SOLINGEN under it. Thank you for the replies.

"German Swords and Sword Makers" by Richard Bezdek shows an Abraham Werth in business during the years 1887-1918. It shows another Abraham Werth in business from 1918 - 1945.
