Does anyone know where I can buy a dug civil war pistol no one seems to have one for sale at the moment. It would help me out a lot if any of y'all where selling or knows anyone who is selling one

Several changed hands at the Franklin Show and hopefully they will hit the market soon

Larry had one until a couple weeks ago. Go here and scroll down to item 134 to see
It. http://midtenrelics.com/update.htm give Larry a call as he seems to have one over so often and can probably point you in the right direction. The shows are a good place too. As noted earlier there were several at the recent Franklin show - they turn up…

I have one I dug in a Georgia camp near Fredericksburg (Jackson's winter camp at Moss Neck) but don't want to part with it.

I have dug 2 and 1 was also from Fredericksburg. I have seen others dug from Fburg and I would say that due to the makeup of that battle is the reason. Like war logs and Chickamauga.

Nice Colt but u need to keep off my hunting grounds! LoL
I found the Colt Navy back in 1986 when I was stationed at APG Maryland. It was found on private property with the landowners permission:D

I'm with you, I like the look of the dug ones. It makes me wonder what the story behind them is. It was an expensive personal item to lose, both monetarily and protection wise. I have 4 dug revolvers. Only one is a common one. Only one is from an unknown location. I would rather not sell them, unless you have a Spencer carbine for sale!

During fighting at Spotsylvania Courthouse on May 12, '64 Elisha Hunt Rhodes rode forward in a hailstorm of shot and shell to redirect artillery fire. While performing his duties he dropped his pistol and wrote "Had the handles been Pearl and the barrel gold I would not have stopped to pick it up. "

Here is my Colt 1860 Army that was recovered in Franklin Tennessee.
I picked this up from Nick at Army of Tennnesee Relics. It is definitely not for sale but I thought you might like seeing it. I need to find a better display case for it. Maybe @ucvrelics or anyone else here could suggest where to find one that would display this 1860 Army nicely. Good luck in your search.
