Help Identify Fallen Soldiers

I'm sure most of you have seen Alexander Gardner's famous photo of the dead along the West side of the Hagerstown Pike. These were likely Louisiana men under General Starke. For a while I have been fascinated by the photos and how many were taken in a short distance of another. Is it possible to identify or narrow down who these men were?

What makes me interested is the amount of photographs of generally the same area but from different angles. Looking at a high quality TIFF image you can see the soldier in the left foreground has something that looks like Sergeants chevrons. The group of 3 beside the first fence post can be seen from another angle as well.

Great find! Do you think it is possible to figure out the order in which Starke's regiments deployed along the pike?
