Hey everyone,

I've been doing research trying to find our what kind of sword I have here. But I've had no luck as of yet.

If someone could help me out, that would be great! Thanks.

It resembles the Model 1840 cavalry saber (what was termed in the US as the wrist breaker) but I need something in scale to measure it by. Is there any writing, or proof marks on the blade near the handle? Is the blade sharpened? If the blade is unsharpened and there is no writing on the blade I would say the weapon is of European manufacture. The US Model 1860 is very similar, although a bit lighter and almost always has the manufactures information on the blade.

Welcome! Real or reproduction, it's a nice weapon.

From the photos you posted and not being able to see the pommel that clearly it's an 1840. It appears to be a reproduction as stated above. The grip and wire wrap appears to be new. Look at the pommel of yours and see if there are an intials. Below is a photo of an 1840 pommel and a 1860 pommel.
