Help for a different Meade

Hello, Found out from an obituary that my great uncle, Thomas Meade was a union soldier ( I am not sure I believe the related to General Meade stuff yet - however, Thomas is from Limerick County also) In looking up his name and the state of Pennsylvania, I went down a rabbit hole with Thomas Mead, a musician of the 183rd regiment,Company C. It turns out that from the pension of the musician I see his date of death is April 2, 1922, while my Thomas Meade died February 28, 1919. So the wrong Thomas Meade.

I am wondering since my Thomas enlisted shortly after immigrating perhaps he did not join up in Pennsylvania, although all of his relatives are settled there.

Is there anyway to cross reference a name in the pensions with the date of death so I can narrow down to my Thomas. I've attached his obituary. He died in Pennsylvania.

Any ideas on where to go from here?

Thank you.

Welcome, the article says he served along with his brother, Patrick. I located a Patrick Meade, 1st Sergeant U.S. 1st Infantry Company C.(Regular Army). The only Thomas Meade I found from PA was the musician in the 183rd. Could his middle initial have been "G" ? There was a soldier named Thomas G. Meade age 21, that enlisted in New York, 5/21/1861 into the NY 31st Infantry. He was "discharged for disability" 5/10/1862. I'm assuming he would have landed in New York from Ireland ??? Hope this might help !

I think he worked with his brother on the railroad, but I am not sure if Patrick also served in the war. I'll look at the Thomas Meade from New York. Thank you for your help!
