Well, he's not a quick read, but a very thorough one. You can find used copies pretty cheaply, but I'm told the kindle ebook is filled with typos. I've been studying the Civil War since I was 9 years old, and I have to say that I learned more from those 8 books than almost anything else I've ever read.
