Help Finding a Photo

I came across the grave of Thomas B Gaines, the namesake of present day Gainesville, Virginia. His house was in the vicinity of the battles at Manassas and Bristow. If anyone happens to come across a photo, would you post it? His death date was April 1856. Thanks.

An interesting historical placard. The family was supportive of community. Do you know what happened to the church, and if plans are for any new structure? Thanks,
Lubliner.

hi Lubliner - yes the church was relocated a few miles west of this location in Gainesville - I only happened to find it because of GPS. This original location is not even on GPS anymore.

There are old survey maps on-line. Some require joining with a fee to clear the watermarks on the maps, but they are a great help in seeing the area and what was, back through the 20th century and into the 19th.
