Happy St. Patrick's Day to you. I didn't go to the parade in Boston this year. William Bulger, president of the state senate, used to have a breakfast where he mocked his fellow law makers on TV that was good for laughs. His notorious brother is probably better known.

Happy Saint Patrick's day to all.

"St. Patrick's Day was celebrated with much enthusiasm by the troops of the Irish Brigade, and on invitation I attended the ceremonies. Hurdle races and ditch jumping were the principal amusements, and after seeing one colonel and two enlisted men fatally injured, I returned to camp, satisfied to take my chances with the rebel shot and shell." Elisha Hunt Rhodes, The 2nd Rhode Island Volunteers at the Siege of Petersburg, p. 26
