A very kind friend of mine recently sent me a book entitled 'Stonewall Jackson and the American Civil War', the book was written by GFR Henderson. The book is 106 years old. The first edition of this book was published in 1899 and again later in 190o,1903,1906 and 1909. I have the 1909 edition. My question is really about the changes and any new discoveries that have been made about Stonewall Jackson since this book was first written. Should I read this book and learn from it or, should I focus on more modern literature only? My concern is that some of the earlier/older books may have inaccuracies in them. I will treasure this book regardless of any inaccuracies but I don't want to read something that may have historical mistakes in it.
