Greetings everyone.

I have been working on a data set for Gettysburg, relating to the order of battle and casualties for some time now.

The source I have used for this Excel file is "The Gettysburg Campaign in Numbers and Losses" by J. David Petruzzi and Steven Stanley.

You can download the file from my github account here:

https://github.com/datameister66/Gettysburg/blob/master/gettysburg_oob.xlsx

This is a very interesting endeavor, and I would appreciate any comments or questions. I hope this aids someone in their research, or deepens their understanding.

Now, my goal is to add to this file lat/longs and to create interactive maps, perhaps even developing a website or app.

I've already experimented with the concept, and this is an example below where you can click on the icons for information, and analyze unit locations by time.

This will come in handy for my LBG studies. I would also suggest "Regimental Strengths and Losses at Gettysburg".

Great stuff!

Indeed Hawkeye, LBG is one of the reasons I started putting this together. I'm quite a way off from that endeavor, but you can't get started too soon. CL

I've got a comprehensive plan that goes through a study of the Eastern Theater and the war as a whole before I even touch Gettysburg. Been working on it for over a year, and with any luck I'll hit Gettysburg by 2019.

I have the book that came out of this data. It is an essential reference for anyone interested in Gettysburg.
