Foto Friday 4/3

This was on Mother's Day 2017. I was on a business trip to Arlington, VA and decided to take a trip to Antietam. This was the entrance to Bloody Lane. I was walking alone as no one else was around. A bit eerie but an amazing experience.

This is also a favorite place of mine. Had 3 ancestors in the 132 PVI that attacked that place. Somehow all three survived. They were the guys that were chased from the farm when the bee hives were hit with canon shells.

I believe it was November of 1862 or early December. Not finding the quote quickly.
I guess I should have asked what State?
There is a Hardeman County in Tennessee, so your post perked up my interest.

Nice job on cleaning the headstone. I follow the Good Cemeterian on FaceBook and they use a chemical D-2 to clean stones.

Yes, it was in TN. He arrived in TN in '62 from Colombus, KY. Left the state when Grant wanted more troops near Vicksburg in '63.

Nice! A good spot for photos "up the Lane".

Not a 100% matching opposite view, but from the other day:
