Anyone with a Fold3 subscription willing to run a look-up for me? :) I was thinking I should look for Great-Great-Grandpa's records (if any)... I used my trial subscription time looking up Henry Walke stuff. :D

Benjamin Franklin Waggoner, of Wood County, Ohio (or possibly adjoining Lucas County); enlisted in 14th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (in its 3-years incarnation, not its original 90-day formation) in August 1861, and assigned to company "I". His name is sometimes given as Benj. F. and B. F., and although "Waggoner" is the correct spelling, I have seen it frequently misspelled "Wagoner" and "Wagner" (not too surprisingly). He did not reenlist after his three-year term was up.

Born 29 Nov 1841 in either Ohio or Pennsylvania (sources conflict); died 4 May 1921 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He married Mary M. Hartsell, who outlived him by about a year.

Unfortunately you're not going to get much from fold3 in Ohio, just index cards. There are two Benjamin F Waggoners, one is obviously your guy and the other may be him in a different unit or another man. Several of the people I've researched from Ohio served with more than one unit, so consider the possibility that both might be him.
