Very nice and welcome from New Hampshire! Please visit the Soldier's Tales Forum!

Welcome to CivilWarTalk - the best place on the internet for Civil War discussion! Happy to have you aboard!

I have a feeling that Tige Anderson would have been very pleased to have such a nicely equipped, able-bodied, soldier report for duty in his brigade. :D

What a wonderful bit of history! I haven't actually done much unit research, although I don't have a good excuse. I've been greatly enjoying Shelby Foote's series.

Nice picture. Welcome to the forum from The Trans-Mississippi Department. Where didja get the shoes?

Looks like you are off to a good start. Take good care of your equipment and it will last for years. Before you know it, your gear will exhibit a nice patina.

Which at the time of course, may or may not have had a patina, because new uniforms were issued periodically even for Confederates. Please don't go rolling in the dirt - that's a reenactorism.

Thank you! I appreciate any criticism.

Well ok, a small one. The waistline used at the time was at your belly button. That's where the top of your trousers should be, perhaps shorten your suspenders to get there. Then the crotch will rise such that you won't look quite so saggy down there. I realize that might mean letting out the leg cuffs a bit ... I hope there's material left enough to do that, though some soldiers preferred quite short cuffs.
