first model dragoon

I couldn't use that one on the bottom. The one on the top is the one that broke you just can't see it because the other arm I ended up getting it welded and I've almost got it perfect because nobody makes it. But I filed for ever but it goes in and halfcock bolt goes down then full cock it stays down then pull trigger it comes back up.
It should only come back up because of the movement of the hammer backwards on full cock, not the trigger. As the bolt arm clears the angled stud on the hammer, it should return under pressure from the bolt/trigger spring to lock the cylinder. This suggests that the spring is not working as it should. Two possible causes. The bolt arm is 'gripping' on something - trigger or hammer - and the spring cannot shift it - OR the spring is too weak to return it.
One method I have used on these is to remove the triggerguard and trigger/bolt spring and push up with a finger on the bolt as the spring would do and feel what happens on cocking (removing the mainspring makes this easier). If your finger can get it to work as it should, the spring needs attention.

BTW - Is that indent to clear the trigger pin?

Honestly I need a new cylinder bolt I welded the other one and tried to file it to work, but I just don't think I'm gonna be able to do it. I was able to get it to go half cock and then it's slipping past when it's full cock now you have to press it down your finger, then pull the trigger to get it to return. I'm back to having to find a new cylinder bolt that will work, which I just don't think apparently it's possible. I've tried everybody.
