I have a first model 44 caliber dragoon reproduction 1971 Italy I believe it's Uberti I broke the cylinder bolt and cannot find the right one. Can someone please explain to me where and why mine is different than every other one available mine is the rusted one on top. The other arm is broken off of it. Anyone please help.

This is a part that may require fitting and having one that worked certainly makes that easier.
Did this break during an effort to spread the sides to make it fit snuggger?

The arm on the bare metal (top) one looks like it has a slightly longer *reach* than the blackish one.

Ok I tried VTI and they don't have it and also Lodgewood doesn't have they exact one the guy at VTI said its going to be near impossible to find anyone got any more suggestions

Finding parts for the early repros can be hit and miss as you're already aware of.

Other than the suggestions already made you can try S&S Fireams or Dixie Gun Works as a last resort. Lodgewood and VTI are the first choices and you already hit them up. Track of The Wolf might also know of someone obscure that might have it.

Assuming you cannot find one take your original part to some local machine shops or places that do fabricating or decorative welding and see if they can and will make one for you.

Looks as if you'll have to make it yourself, or find a metal shaper who can make it for you. Shouldn't be too hard to cut from a piece of flat 4140 steel. A lot of file work, but not too difficult. Then it will have to be case hardened and tempered.

Ok so I welded that little arm back on and hand filed for hours it fits good now it goes half cock and the bolt goes down but the bolt won't come up until u pull the trigger I'm confused

There's a dimple on your old one that's not on the new one - what's up with that?

I couldn't use that one on the bottom. The one on the top is the one that broke you just can't see it because the other arm I ended up getting it welded and I've almost got it perfect because nobody makes it. But I filed for ever but it goes in and halfcock bolt goes down then full cock it stays down then pull trigger it comes back up.

That is strange.
