Which one is the real fake?

The mortar is also a fake . It has an extremely smooth finish with no casting markings and probably has a wooden carriage . Also there aren't any 13" mortars that aren't well documented .

To raise money this Civil War museum has people donate use Civil War books that they then sell in the gift shop. I picked up some nice $1, $2, and $3 books. So the fake artillery was offset by the bag I books I bought. There were some interesting items an displays so over all the Civil War Museum of Ohio in Tiffin was a nice stop for me.

This is interesting. How many 13" mortars are still in existence? Approximately how many were actually manufactured? Where are the remaining originals actually located today? Mostly outdoors at battlefield locations? Are they better kept in a controlled environment or is outdoors fine if cared for? Is this information documented in one place for reference along with other artillery examples of the period? Perhaps someone might recommend a reading? Fascinating stuff gentleman.
