Whoever coined the phrase " It's no picnic " hadn't a clue to what they were referring- a picnic is no picnic. Thinking possibly a man, women being in charge of food preparations. All the man had to do was go hitch up Dolly and Pete, get the dog in the house. Ok, so later he could gas up the car- bringing the food remained the woman's province. No wonder we still insist he go get the dog.

Donna is away for a few, promised her I'd try to be helpful in her forum. Hope she likes these, the picnic baskets we've been bundling food into for a good century plus so our families can celebrate some holiday chock full of sack races and bugs, cousins and pickles, flags and friends and fireflies.

Please forgive the lack of labels of these. I thought about it- saved them, decided against it on the grounds it distracted from the events they attended and the lemonade stains on the bottoms of each one.

Thank you for the great look into the variants of picnic supplies! Where some of the baskets look appropriate for a t-shirt and jeans picnic, others look to require a swallowtail coat and high hat. And table fare may ranging from fried chicken to caviar and champagne. My personal preference is casual, I guess I'm a paper plate guy when it comes to picnics.
