Watching a show on HBO currently. Righteous Gemstones. Love it like it hate it is indifferent. My question is, it's a new show and they have TONs of civil war soldier extras, at least in the first episode. How does one find their way to get to do something like that? Anybody know? Would be so awesome

Haven't seen the show you were watching so don't know if they were hired extras or reenactors. There's actually been a few people on here that have put a call out for reenactors to help with a show. When large use of reenactors is needed the word certainly gets out around the reenactor community. There's members on here that were in Gettysburg, God's and Generals, Glory, among some other movies. If you look back through the reenactors forum you'll find some threads on those experiences.

Also alot of these shows/movies aren't filmed in the US. As was the case with Cold Mountain. It was filmed in Europe, I'm having a brain fart which country. They used members of that country's military as extras. I know some of the more recent History Channel shows weren't filmed in the US.
Romania. Don't beat yourself up, it's been 20 years +.
