The Devil (namesake snake of "Devil's Den) is upwards of 15' long and as big around as a man at mid-section. The GB ghost walk industry is uniting to investigate all snake sightings, hoping to find someone that may have caught one. From that, it is hoped DNA might be retrieved. It is suspected that lead, from battle bullets, was radioactive, and may have altered the snakes causing abnormal growth.

Not sure when the Landscape restoration is scheduled for completion. I just hope NPS keeps up with the maintenance once done. Otherwise several rocks with carvings will be hidden. Besides the issue of not being "1863ish".

I know that improvements had to be made to the area, I'm just hoping they try to blend in to the existing area and keep it rustic looking.

That got me thinking and made me wonder whether the park management has to follow rules on accessability such as ramps and hand rails?
