On Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, the Victorian Dance Ensemble of the Civil War Dance Foundation will present demonstrations of some of the most common dances of the Civil War at 1:00PM and 3:00PM in the GNMP Visitor Center. At the end of each demonstration, visitors will be invited to come out and learn a dance from the era. From 11:00AM to 4:00PM, the CWDF will also present a display of civilian artifacts, including jewelry, photographs, fans, dance cards, newspapers depicting dancing during the Civil War, souvenirs of the 1866 Return of the Colors Ceremony in Philadelphia, and (new this year) Grand Army of the Republic memorabilia.
