Heck we were not pagans down here. I think we used utensils too. But the Colonel didn't sell us any. We did get some brass lamps; I threw them somewhere.

I had one who was on the other side but only lasted less than a year.

May well have been…the Colonel (who could kill with a look) was a Richmond, Virginia native. He looked the part. One tough smoking rooster. His bellows served the battalion batteries well. We did not get a story with the plates but he told us they had been used.

Confederate States of America (CSA) did not issue mess plates. The South was experiencing metal shortages, so it would have been a waste to issue mess plates.

Yeah bogus and so the Colonel says they had been used. Yeah for oil changes of his motorcycle in his shrine. He had a man garage and was a true gentleman and rebel. Bless him! But he would never pass up a moment to make a buck!
