Cheaper, faster way to get rid of under brush I suppose but I wonder how many more witness trees are damaged. I hate it. 1998 here in Fl. there was a big fire and that started "controlled burns" here. They lost control of a couple of them and there have been houses lost, and one year the smoke covered an interstate and it caused a big wreck with loss of life.

Don't worry, it will grow back better than ever in a short period of time and having watched a controlled burn at Gettysburg; I can assure you that the proceedings are watched very, very carefully.

With the underbrush and grass removed you can see just how terrible some of this ground is to farm.I cant imagine how much work it takes to clear an area of rocks to make it workable even if its possible at all. The farms at the lower end of the battlefield had it rough.

Very true and I understand Gettysburg had very rocky ground to begin with.

Doug, your pictures are excellent, but you are uploading the highest resolution pics your camera can capture. It's better not to do that. See if you can reduce the file size to something useful like five or six inches wide by 72 dpi before you upload. Right now, you are at about 42 inches wide at 72 dpi.

...or...

Go ahead and upload what you can and we will deal will it, because we want to see your pics.
