Would anyone have some good contacts to stock inlet the saddle bar or patch box for my 1859 Sharps carbine? I picked up an old(er?) repro stock that needed patch box inletting, and I did a fair job. Now I need to pick up an era-specific stock with cartouches. Some might need the patch box or saddle bar inletting done. Ballpark on pricing for either work would help too. I won't go to Lodgewood - have my reasons. Thanks, Eric.

They have a forum devoted to gun building -primarily muzzle loaders- and many of the members build the guns from scratch. Many of the builders would not have a problem inletting what you want. You could send the private email and see if they would be interested in doing a little stock work for you.
