Colt 3rd Model Dragoon Mis-stamped

I am interested in a 3rd model Colt Dragoon revolver, however the COLT'S PATENT stamping on the frame is upside down. Has anyone ever seen this? Is it common or is it likely to just be an error in production? Would appreciate anyone's comments.
