Newest acquisition came today. It is sn89998. Forward or backward! I wanted it for a parts gun, but wondered if it shows up on Springfield list? Pictures, Pictures, Pictures! Barrel is cut square, camera angle odd.

Nice cut down conversion and some one did a great job on the load lever. Its not listed in the SRS. Is there a naval scene on the cylinder and do all the # match?

Serial numbers (seven places) match, but wedge is number 9279. There is some naval scene left. No cartouches. Thanks for the SRS info.
it looks like a nice piece with its own unique history; I think it would be a shame to ruin that for a few parts that wouldn't match anything else. It is what it is.

Is that a Colt Manhattan?
Colt Manhattan did make a short barrel Navy .36 cal. But there is a difference between the 2.
Unfortunately there's no such thing as a Colt Manhattan; those are two entirely different companies, though the Manhattan Firearms Company obviously copied the Colt design.

I love the look of the cut down barrel! I really like the snubby versions of these "old smoky" sidearms (hence why I love the Colt 1849 Pocket in 4"). Hmmmm….too bad I don't have a spare barrel to cut down for my 1860 Army. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Manhattan company made the short barrel and it seems to me like they called it a sheriff's model. Or something.
