Colonel Peter A. Porter 8th NYHA

Hello to all. This is my first post on this forum and hopeful of posting more. Thought I would show this cdv of Colonel Peter A. Porter. Porter was the commanding officer of the 129th NYVI soon becoming the 8th New York Heavy Artillery. He was killed in action on June 3, 1864 at Cold Harbor. Porter was from my neck of the woods but photos of him are scarce. This cdv shows him in civilian attire.
