I realize I have mentioned these a few times on more than one occasion; and I will leave the subject alone after this...I just want members here, who want a beautiful, detailed, piece of Civil War to be aware of the Chilmarks (fine pewter sculptures on wood bases) for your home or office. They are all discontinued, and limited edition, VERY niece pieces. Francis J. Barnum is the sculptor, and I've never seen such detail in small sculptures anywhere else! HE belongs on this site--he is very knowledgeable about the CW. I'm not trying to "peddle" here--I just KNOW if you find one you like (look on Ebay for Civil War Chilmarks to buy)--you won't regret buying it! And if you need ANY information, feel free to contact me; I own 111 out of 112 that he made for the company "Chilmark", and those he made after Chilmark closed years ago...They are all over my house on shelves, bookcases, etc. and everyone who sees them is fascinated. I'm only posting this because I really believe you would enjoy owning one. BTW, I'm not selling any on Ebay (even though I have duplicates of some), so I get nothing from this but the pleasure of seeing others own these pieces--I love to give gifts!

rhett,
Thank you for bringing the subject of these works of art. They are beautifully detailed and very nice pieces as you describe. You sure have a fine collection! Hint: my birthday is in October. The sculptures I've seen are all wonderful and here's one I favor:

That was my second one! I'm a perfectionist--you can gently bend his pistol straight, but NEVER back and forth, as with his sword...Thanks for replying! They're great pieces, aren't they? When I learn how to post a photo on my laptop (can you believe I don't know how?) I'll show some here.

Oh, and MRB, Gettysburg Heritage center has a few new ones (from years ago, never displayed) that I have bought--ou being so close! Lucky you--my last trip in November, I asked many people, "what's it like to live here?"---I have no ties here, I just might move there! And lol on your birthday mention..made me laugh.

Yes, I have seen some of them at the Heritage Center! Gettysburg would be a great place to live! We have discussed a move there upon retirement. Speaking of the Heritage Center...their remodel is very nice! Well worth the stop to see the new exhibits..
